ESTATE PLANNING AND TRUST
Probate and Trust Administration Litigation
The probate process in Puerto Rico is very complex and vary from the laws in the majority of the States. Probate administration and estate planning in Puerto Rico is quite different than in the States. For example, Puerto Rico has forced heirs provision that automatically leave the inheritance to children and in many cases it won’t allow for assets to pass outside of the probate system directly to other people or entities such as family trusts. Our attorneys have vast experience in this area, specially addressing complex probate litigation and issues related to assets of the estate located outside of Puerto Rico.
